AI for Nonprofits: Practical Prompt Engineering for Nonprofit Leaders

Most generic AI responses fail for one reason: the question was generic. This first session establishes what generative AI actually is in plain English, where it earns its keep, and where it falls flat.

Participants will learn the RICE-FACT framework — Role, Instruction, Context, Examples, Format, Action, Constraints, Tone — a repeatable mental model for getting consistently better output.

Live before-and-after demonstrations on real nonprofit scenarios: donor emails, grant summaries, board updates.

You will leave with a repeatable prompting framework you can apply tomorrow morning to whatever AI tool you already have open.

Hosted by the Sacramento Mountains Foundation. Presented by Nick Todd, Watch Elm Consulting. L
